I’m exhausted, but happy to report that our first production kicked off on Sunday, March 28, 2010 and it was a huge success. 75 socialites came out to shop and we brought our ‘A’ game to provide a posh and playful experience in the ultimate girl’s night out venue, Flirty Girl Fitness.
Guests enjoyed lime and raspberry vodka tea martinis along with loose teas, Read My Lips and Exotica, poured by delightful staff from David’s Tea. Yummy treats included gourmet mini cupcakes in lime coconut, carrot pineapple, vanilla bean and chocolate by Shelly Hull, plus decadent blueberry scones and a candy bar that added a little sugar rush.
3 of Cups Entertainment provided an amazing tea leaf reader who offered a glimpse into the future for some lucky guests while almost everyone got glossy with DaLish Cosmetics and learned about the power of colour with Toronto’s top image consultant, Your Shop Girl. The change room was busy with ladies trying on designer denim from Oooh La La, and Kania Couture had ladies striking a pose in the mirror while trying on their gorgeous, yet comfy designs. Accessory designers, Headmistress and Cha Cha Lifestyle brought a little sugar and spice with their unique collections and I couldn’t help taking home a studded clutch from Cha Cha myself. Stella & Dot was new to many guests but that didn’t stop them from snapping up statement necklaces draped in swarovski crystals and semi-precious stones. We also were honoured to have Canadian designers, Desperately Different, Karamea, and Susana Erazo join us before setting up their exhibit at LG Fashion Week that same evening, and our guests truly loved the chance to flirt with high-end Canadian fashion.
Though we weren’t able to dish up mega swag (hey, it’s our first event!), a few lucky winners took home door prizes generously supplied by i love my muff and Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics and one guest took home a ticket prize pack for herself and 3 friends to our next Shop Socials event. Nobody went home empty-handed since Flirty Girl Fitness was sweet enough to give passes for a free week of their saucy classes to every guest.
The feedback has been extremely positive and we’re so thankful for the support that’s been offered. This is the first of many Shop Socials experiences and it looks like we’ll be shopping with some amazing socialites on the way! Details on our upcoming Shopping After Dark series and May’s production, Beauty and the Brunch will be available soon. Make sure you’re on the guest list to receive info and updates.
