Headmistress began in January 2009 in London, England when founder Jillian Wood opened up a market stall on Brick Lane. It wasn’t long before Headmistress’ line of feathery clips, headbands and rings had gained a loyal global following and Jillian expanded into upcycled fur pieces, fabric turbans and headwraps priced at $22 – $295.
As a proud Canadian, Jillian took inspiration from her home and native land for her Fall/Winter 2012 collection – Winter Lady. As such, it was only appropriate to celebrate this by naming the collection after influential Canadian women – Joni (Mitchell), Jeannie (Bekker), Alanis (Morissette), Shania (Twain), Margaret (Atwood) and Emily (Carr) to name a few. You can shop Headmistress at local Toronto faves like Charlie Boutique, online at http://www.loveheadmistress.com but we’d love you to join us on November 16th where you can meet Jillian and shop her fall and holiday collections over cocktails and conversation at a very special pop-up we’re hosting at The Spoke.
